| One
was our meetings we went to having our instructors
rotate in order to get a consistent message
out and concentrate on high school football.
I had so many that said they really like this
approach. We also secured the Aldine Campbell
Center to have our general meetings.
Our website was
another area we wanted to improve and with the
help of Nathan Wittman we really did do a great
job there. I know many have commented about
the improved communication.
Thirdly we wanted
to improve on our training. Our crew chief training
and the new recruit training have been some
areas that we have revamped and I think have
been vastly improved.
Retention and
recruiting were also focuses of this Board and
we have really turned this up. The recruiting
classes in the past two years have been record
numbers. The retention issue is still out there
but we are working to get better with that and
I feel the mentoring program that Don Martinez
headed up will help greatly in this area.
I want to thank
each of you for your dedication to the Houston
Chapter. We have some hurdles to clear in the
coming days with the UIL/TASO issue out there.
I know the Houston Chapter will do well as we
have the greatest membership in the state. I
appreciate each of you and what you do for high
school football.
