Dear fellow officials,

A lot has been learned from last year’s mentor-mentee program. With our ability to get an early start, we, the Mentoring Committee are excited about this year’s program.
The success of the program falls upon a few key components happening as follows:

1. Identifying who our mentors will be this coming season by May 31st.

2. Identifying who our mentees will be by July 7th.

3. Matching of mentors and mentees by July 15th.

4. Allowing mentors to work with their regional secretary to schedule 2 games with their mentee no later than July 25th.

As an official we all can name at least one person who had an impact on us in becoming the official we are today. As a member of our chapter each of us have the opportunity to give back by influencing a new official in a positive way as a mentor.

It has been proven new officials will more likely become a stronger seasoned official through the years as a result of someone taking an interest in their success. Your role as a mentor will have a long term impact in the retention of officials in the years to come.

We need your assistance to the success of this year’s program. Please complete the Mentor sign-up sheet either at one of our meetings in April and May or on the website prior to May 28th.
